Careful Model Track-Laying and Ballasting. Clearance between Tracks is an Important Issue, Especially around Curves.

A 44-Ton Switcher Locomotive is Resting after Working this Small Yard with Multiple Turnouts. In Model Railroad Yards, It is Often Helpful to Have Two or More Turnouts Controlled by One Switch.

A Model Train Tunnel Made with Plaster and Painted with Various Washes to Create a Realistic Wood Appearance.

Automated Operation with Trains Automatically Stopping and Starting Up Again after a Delay at Train Stations is Easily Achievable with Inexpensive Circuit Boards

Trees, Structure, Truck, Ground Scenery All Add to the Realism and Art of this Scene. Taking the Picture at or Near Eye Level Helps Also. Looks Like a Country Music Song.

Small Town on the BR&S. Mostly Passenger Service Here. One Mainline Shown Here and a Double Branch for Easy Passenger Loading and Offloading.

Early Stages of the BR&S Railroad. Benchwork Constructed Easily Using the Mod-U-Rail Kits from Woodland Scenics. Plywood and Extruded Foam Sheets Make Up the Subroadbed. The Fascia Is Made from Thin but Sturdy Hardboard. Foam Blocks and Grades Also from WS Were Used to Create Elevations.

Model Rocks, Cliffs, Vegetation All Help to Create an Artistic Background for Your Model Railroad.

Control Tower, 3 Elevations, 2 Tunnels. Notice the Light and the Shadows in This Photograph. One Spotlight from the Right Side Resulted in Sharp Shadow Silhouettes. Looks Like an Early Morning Scene.
